Exploring life, fashionably and beautifully.

A refreshing switch from fall’s thick leather boots and booties is the adorable leather or suede oxford-inspired lace-up wedge. It’s true and total sweetheart style. Transition your summer clothes into fall by pairing them with thick wool tights and flirty skirts, cuffed trouser shorts, and rolled up denim. It’s an unconventional twist on an old-fashioned staple piece that will give both a retro-feel and hipster edge to anyone’s ordinary, everyday style.

For the Splurge: These Leather Oxford Wedges by Miu Miu are the perfectly polished pick in taupe and toffee leather. This pair is just perfect for the office and with the sturdy platform you can be sure that you will be as stable as you are stylish.

For the Save: At a super steal, these Camel Faux Suede Lace-up Peep Toe Slingback Wedge Heels from Urban Outfitters will do the job of keeping you comfortable and cushioned no matter where the day may lead. Pair them with your favorite denim jeans or an adorable set of printed and cuffed shorts.

Target Mossimo Peony Pumps

Didn’t you hear? Nude pumps are in. (Again.) Check out these Peony Pumps from Target. With the chunky 3.25″ heel, these might actually be somewhat comfortable for the average woman, even walkable for a block or two. For $24.99, the price is just right to try the nude pump trend – you know, if you’re willing to spend $25 bucks on a pair of shoes you may never wear more than once. Fake leather, rubber sole, at least it’s cow-friendly. And if you’re not into the nude? The Peony Pumps also come in regular colors like black and red. I know if I see these in a store, I’ll wear them once around the shoe section.

Cutie patootie! These Marc by Marc Jacob flats are a sweet, unexpected accessory. They may look like regular black flats but pack an adorable punch with the mousy features. You could wear these to jazz up any stuffy business outfit.

Marc Jacobs is a god. At least, he’s a god to me. He’s the first designer I go to for handbags and accessories. If I could fit his clothes, he would also be the first person I went to for tops and dresses. But at least I can fit his cute shoes, especially with the fabulous Miss Marc.

Remember when I made my fashion ban, not buying any clothes or accessories this year unless I needed to replace something? I can’t believe I’m still holding on to that. We’re in February and I haven’t bought a single thing… until these Naturalizer Brash booties! They’re replacing a pair of Nine West pumps that hurt so badly, I had to buy another pair of shoes to wear for the rest of the day. These booties are what I’ve been looking for though and look a lot better on me than I thought they would have. Best of all? They’re pretty comfy for heels!

That killer pair of Nine West shoes is going on Craigslist. I’ve only worn them four times. Anyone want a pair of black crocodile pumps in a size 5?

What shoes have you had to give up because they were too painful?
