Look at that. It’s beautiful. Beautiful!
Okay, it’s either the excitement of finally getting something from my Missoni for Target order or all the Coke Zero Cherry I’ve had. Pretty frickin’ exciting.
Surprisingly, the quality isn’t too bad either. The tote is cotton and the straps and bottom are a sturdy faux leather with metal feet to protect the bottom! I can’t remember a single Target bag I’ve looked at that has feet, even real leather bags from Isaac Mizrahi. (I miss him designing for Target. Come back, Isaac! Target, pay him more money.)
The scarf is wearable and pretty awesome from a distance. You have to get it in your hands to see that it’s 1) not 100% wool, 2) unsuitable as a 0-degree-winter scarf, and 3) pretty thin. Thankfully, I don’t live in a 0-degree-winter area and this scarf worked well enough when I was running around downtown last night. Only my arms were cold! (Because they weren’t covered.)
And look! Even Buddy likes the stuff, too. He sniffed the scarf for a good five minutes and now he’s sitting on the bag.

What other Missoni for Target items am I waiting for? Another four. Sigh.

Supposedly, the flats won’t be shipped until mid-October. Who can wait that long?!! I just hope they’re worth it. The black and white sweater is coming next week and the other stuff is coming whenever Target gets their shit together.
I’ll complain about Target after I receive everything. ;)
How was your experience with Missoni for Target? What did you get?

According to ASOS, berry is a Spring trend. Honestly, I don’t pay that much attention to trends so I have no idea. To me, berry is just another one of those colors/styles that should always be in. How can you get bored of a dark red or a rich purple? Look at this satchel! How can you be bored of this satchel? I could carry this around all year long, even if I’m wearing jeans and a tee. For the price tag, it’s not too bad either.
Anyone know the quality of ASOS leather bags?

After reading about Agentlover’s adventures at last year’s Santa Monica Vintage Fashion Expo, I jumped at the chance to attend San Francisco’s very own expo when it came back around. I went with Mira Torres of The Beauty Bohemian, who picked up a few things.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures at the expo (my battery died three photos in) – and the photos I do have are blurred yucky things. So I must describe the scene.
The Vintage Fashion Expo is held at San Francisco’s Concourse Exhibition Center, a one-level building a half-block squared, on the weekend of March 19, 2011. We arrived early afternoon to find the booths set up yet the center a bit empty of people. I thought the center would be completely filled with booths of vintage goodness but a quarter of the building was fenced off. Apparently we got there early because things weren’t bustling until an hour or so later.
Dresses, sweaters, cardigans, blouses, pants, coats, jackets, necklaces, shoes, bracelets – pretty much anything you could think of for fashion they had. There was even a whole booth of vintage Chanel quilted purses protected in glass display cases. I even found a white Gucci shoulder bag for $250. $250! If it wasn’t white, which is a color I will surely dirty in a nanosecond, I would have bought it. And, there was a chocolate brown alligator Ferragamo framed handbag. $125. Wah! Why didn’t I get it? It was a bit small and out of proportion on me.
But! I did get this lovely maroon-purple satchel below. Even better? The strap is actually two straps held together with snaps and then you take it apart, and snap it at different points so the strap is longer! It’s versatile! And patent leather! With suede detailing! And beautiful! I broke my budget but it was well worth it.

How do you feel about vintage fashion? Where do you go for your fix? What is your favorite vintage find?
Is this sexy? Maybe, because of the glossy black leather, but this bag is more a classic tote with a knock-out shine. With a crossbody strap of 20 inches, you can carry this over your shoulder or your arm. Versatile, pretty, and classic – what more could a girl want?

I shit you not, this is actually the name of the bag: “He’s Not Dead He’s Just Breakdancing.” It conveys the whimsy I love Marc Jacobs for. Though the snake-embossed suede is not my style, I would get this just for the name alone.
